Baroque refers to a sylistic period ranging approximately from the years 1600 - 1750. It includes composers such as Bach, Vivaldi, and Handel. Entries in this category must reflect this stylistic time period.
Composer must be considered Canadian. For extensive listings of selections please refer to acnmp.ca and musiccentre.ca
Classical refers to a sylistic period ranging approximately from the years 1750 to 1825. It includes composers such as Mozart, Haydn, and early Beethoven. Entries in this category must reflect this stylistic time period.
Impressionistic refers to a sylistic period positioned approximately between 1890–1920. It includes composers such as Ravel, Debussy, and Satie. Music entered in this category must reflect this stylistic time period.
To include more than one movement of a Sonatina or Sonata, or multiple selections from a composer’s Suite, set of Preludes, or similar collection.
All parts must be related to the set and should not include various selections published by a composer.
Romantic refers to a sylistic period positioned approximately between 1830–1900. It includes composers such as Chopin, Liszt, and Rachmaninoff. Music entered in this category must reflect this stylistic time period.
20th & 21st Century refers to a stylistic period spanning approximately from 1900 to the present day. It includes composers such as Stravinsky, Bartók, and Shostakovich. Music entered in this category must reflect this stylistic time period.
