This information is required for the Festival to be able to ensure you have entered into the correct class. In age defined classes, select your class based on what age your students are as of December 31st, 2025.
No, participants who receive first place — or overall first place if the class was subdivided — are not eligible to compete in the same class the following year, except in "Open" classes.

To be eligible for recommendation to the Provincial Festival, a competitor must have performed in two or more solo classes for their instrument at VKMF and have received a mark of 85% or higher in at least two classes. Small Ensemble (Chamber group) entrants are exempt from having to compete in two solo classes.
To be eligible for nomination to the Provincial Festival to compete in the Provincial Excellence Class, a competitor must have performed in two solo classes AND the VKMF RECITAL CLASS - EXCELLENCE for their instrument and received a minimum mark of 85% in at least two classes. Small Ensemble (Chamber group) entrants are exempt from having to compete in two solo classes.
Once registration has closed, corrections will only be accepted until January 30, 2026.
-Allowable changes include: Repertoire title, movements, composer, timing, class, and competitor's names.

-You will be invoiced $25.00 to complete the correction request.
-NO changes will be accepted after January 30th, 2026.
Classes may occur on any day during the Festival event and at any time of day when the Festival is in session. Participants cannot reschedule their class time. By default, classes are scheduled between 9:00 a-9:00pm, seven days a week.
The registration deadline is Jan. 18, 2026. Late entry applications may be considered up to Jan. 25th, 2026. After this period, ALL late registration requests will be rejected. Requests must be made in writing to krista.pederson@vkmfestivals.org. If accepted, there will be a $25.00 late fee charge added.
Complaints and protests will only be reviewed when made in writing to the Executive Director, together with a fee of $50.00 immediately after the class or action. If the complaint/protest is upheld, the fee will be returned. The Festivals Complaints Committee's decision will be final.
