2026 Syllabus - Recital Classes - Excellence

Time Limit: 35 minutes
Age Limit: 22 years and under
Excecution Level: Above Senior Level

*This class was previously called "Provincial Excellence."

• Competitors must present a well-rounded program that comprises works by different composers or authors representing various styles and periods.
• Repertoire played in the Recital Class - Excellence category may not be used again in any other class.
• Individual movements of multi-movement works may be included.
• Competitors in these classes will be expected to be performing at a very high level, generally higher than that required for provincial recommendation to Senior classes.
• Concertos are NOT permitted.
• Memorization is mandatory.
• In order to be considered for nomination for the Provincial Excellence category at the Provincial Festival, a candidate must have participated in the VKMF - Recital Class - Excellence, AND receive a mark of at least 85.
