2026 Syllabus - Recital Classes - Excellence

Time Limit: 35 minutes
Age Limit: 22 years and under
Excecution Level: Above Senior Level

*This class was previously called "Provincial Excellence."

Competitors must present a well-rounded program that comprises works by different composers or authors representing various styles and periods.
Repertoire played in the Recital Class - Excellence category may not be used again in any other class.
Individual movements of multi-movement works may be included.
Competitors in these classes will be expected to be performing at a very high level, generally higher than that required for provincial recommendation to Senior classes.
Concertos are NOT permitted.
Memorization is mandatory.
In order to be considered for nomination for the Provincial Excellence category at the Provincial Festival, a candidate must have participated in the VKMF - Recital Class - Excellence, AND receive a mark of at least 85.
