Here's what's keeping us buzzing...

Like bees in winter, we cluster together.

Inside each hive, they form a tight winter cluster — thousands gathered closely together, gently vibrating their wings to create warmth. They even rotate positions so no one bee stays on the cold outside for too long. They survive not because of strength alone, but because of community.

And you reminded us of that same spirit recently when you helped name our new cat. After all the votes were counted, the final tally was:
Jewels – 16 · Echo – 14 · Turk – 8
By a whisker (literally), Jewels won. 🐾

At 1 Million Bees, community has always been at the heart of what we do. This winter, we want to shine a light on two local businesses (and local artists) that embody what community looks like in action.

📚 Andy Juniper — Angels in the Architecture
Andy Juniper and Angels in the Architecture
We want to celebrate Andy Juniper, local author and proud bee sponsor, along with his wife Maureen, the maker behind Juniper Handcrafted Soaps (which many of you know and love from our website).

Andy's latest book, Angels in the Architecture, is a beautifully written story about loss and hope. It explores the quiet places where grief meets grace — and reminds us that even in life's hardest seasons, there are unseen threads holding us together. It's thoughtful, heartfelt, and deeply human — a story that lingers long after the last page.

🏪 Brock Road General Store — A Local Treasure Reopened
Brock Road General Store
We are thrilled to share that the Brock Road General Store has reopened — and they are now carrying our honey!

If you haven't visited yet, it's truly a treasure trove: everything hardware, housewares, and food-related — the kind of place where you pop in for one thing and leave inspired (and probably carrying three). Supporting local stores like this keeps our communities vibrant — just like a strong hive keeps its colony alive.

❤️ Our Community Mandate
Artists and storytellers help shape the emotional architecture of a community, and local stores help keep it alive day-to-day. Supporting them is something we should be doing — as neighbours, and as a community. At 1 Million Bees, our mandate has always extended beyond honey. We believe in strengthening the network of people, ideas, and small businesses that make our region thrive.

🍯 Yes — We Still Have Honey Available

If you'd like to stock up while supporting local beekeeping, you can visit our online store here: Shop Honey in Our Store

Thank you for being part of this community. Spring is coming — and we can't wait to share it with you.

With gratitude,
Tim and Shelley
