2026 Syllabus - Small Ensembles

Ensembles & Classes

• Each Ensemble group may enter a maximum of ONE Ensemble class.
• Any individual ensemble member may participate in more than one group. 
  For example: an individual may participate with Ensemble A in one class AND participate with Ensemble B in another class.
• You are NOT allowed to enter the same class with two different ensembles.
• Enter the class that corresponds to the average age of the participants.

 

Important: Participants must enter the age they are as of December 31st, 2025, when registering. Enter the class that is closest in age to the average age of the performers in your group.

For example: 10 yrs. + 12 yrs. + 8 yrs. + 7 yrs. = 37 divided by 4 = 9.25. Enter the 10 years and under class.

• • For duets, enter the class that is closest in age to the average age of the performers in your group.
    For example: 13 yrs. + 17 yrs. = 30 divided by 2 = 15. Enter the 16 years and under class.

 

Repertoire & Class Choice

• PARTICIPANTS WHO HAVE ACHIEVED FIRST PLACE IN A CLASS MAY NOT PERFORM AGAIN IN THE SAME CLASS THE FOLLOWING YEAR, EXCEPT IN "OPEN" CLASSES.
• Open classes have no age restriction.
• One selection per class unless otherwise stated in specific class requirements.
• Any number of movements belonging to the one selection is permitted.
• Complete only ONE registration per group.
• List the names of each instrument in your ensemble when entering.
• Once a piece has been performed it may not be performed again in another class.
• Accurate performance times are necessary for class scheduling, and to avoid disqualification for exceeding class time limits.
